Hamlet is an opera in five acts by the French composer Ambroise Thomas.

The libretto, by Michel Carré and Jules Barbier, is based on Shakespeare's Hamlet, but with considerable changes to the plot.

The work was premiered at the Opéra, Paris on 9 March 1868 and was Thomas's biggest success, along with Mignon.
