Hamish Davidson (Born 3 September 1958) has been the Chairman and Senior Partner of Rockpools since April 2005.

Following the completion of his degree in International Relations at University of Keele, Hamish's career began in accounting with Ernst & Young, after which he moved into the city as Administration Manager for a firm of Fund Managers. From there, he moved to the boutique search/headhunting firm of Jamieson Scott led by Jo Cutmore, followed by a move to Price Waterhouse Management Consultancy where successive promotions led to him becoming Partner in charge of the merged UK resourcing arm of Price Waterhouse and Coopers & Lybrand - now PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

In 2002, he led the sale of the business (necessary due to SEC restrictions in the US) to Capita where he founded and became Chairman of a new subsidiary, Veredus, for the next two and a half years. There followed a six month sabbatical in late 2004/early 2005 during which time he completed the Cabinet Office Top Managers Programme, spent a month in Japan, and made three research trips to the US with the remainder of his time being spent in Scotland, researching and writing two books.

Hamish is well known in the executive search industry and the public sector generally. He has recruited high profile roles in the public sector including: Chief Executives for the cities of Liverpool, Newcastle and Sheffield, as well as over one third of the London boroughs; Commissioner of Transport for London; Chair of the Commission for Racial Equality; Chair & Chief Executive of the Housing Corporation; Chair of the Legal Services Commission; the Chair & Chief Executive of the Olympic Delivery Authority; the Chair & a team of 14 Trustees for the new Commission for Equalities and Human Rights (CEHR); and the Chair & Chief Executive for Sport England.

He is a frequent speaker at conferences and business schools, and a national commentator on topics including the public and voluntary sectors, human resources, leadership, management and diversity.

In addition to his role with Rockpools, Hamish is Chair of Entrepreneurs in Action (or EiA, which is a training consultancy, specialising in teaching entrepreneurial skills to disadvantaged youth), JGP (formerly Jobsgopublic) and Iris (a performance improvement consultancy). He is also a member of the Advisory Board of Bradford School of Management.
