Hamid Mirza

Hamid Mirza (23rd April 1918, Tabriz - 5th May 1988, London) was the son of Mohammad Hassan Mirza and Muhtaram us-Sultana, following the overthrow of the Qajar dynasty in 1925 he went with his father into to exile in England. During the second world war he served in the Royal Navy. He became head and the Heir Presumptive of the Qajar dynasty following the death of his cousin Fereydoun Mirza in 1975. He was married twice firstly to Mah Banu Khanum, who he married in Paris in 1946, they two children:
- Prince Mohammad Hassan Mirza II (18th July 1949 -)
- Princess Nazrin Dokht Khanum (8th February 1951 -)
He was married secondly to Sudaba Khanum on the 25th August 1960 in Tehran. Following his death on the 5th May 1988 his son Mohammad Hassan Mirza II became the Heir Presumptive of the Qajar Dynasty while Mahmoud Mirza became the new head of the dynasty.
