Hamama (Arabic: حمامة‎) was a town that was captured by Israel during the 1948 Arab-Israeli war. It is located 24 kilometers north of Gaza, in between modern Ashkelon and Ashdod. In 1945, it had a population of 5,070. Mohammed Dahlan's family is originally from Hamama.
