Hallett Cove School

Hallett Cove School is a public school that was opened in 1987. Hallett Cove School is located on the southern coast of South Australia. It is one of three schools in Hallett Cove. In 1996 the school expanded from Reception to 10, to include years 11 and 12. The School motto is Honor Commitment Success, taken from the school abbreviation, HCS.

The school is separated into three different levels of schooling which include Junior School (R-5), Middle School (6-9), Senior School (10-12). Hallett Cove School offers co-curricular activities for students to learn leadership and team work skills, namely school representative council, year level management groups, zone sport, school music bands. The senior school has the opportunity to get involved in the Year 10 Ski Trip and Rock and Roll Eisteddfod. In 2000 Hallett Cove School was the winner of the Rock and Roll Eisteddfod.

Hallett Cove school has a sister school arrangement with a school in Japan, Kokubunji High School . Students from this school have the opportunity to come to Hallett Cove School on an exchange program. Students experience the Australian culture through a homestay with a Hallett Cove student, for approximately a week. During this time Kokubunji students will visit the Hallett Cove School campsite “Taldamari” located 90Km south of Adelaide. The name “Taldamari” is Aboriginal for "Strong, sturdy shelter”.
