Hall Trophy

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Hall Trophy (actually the Ball Park National High School Player of the Year Award) has been awarded annually since 2001 to the most outstanding high school football player in the United States, comparable to the Heisman Trophy for collegiate football players. The award is named after Ken “Sugarland Express” Hall, the all-time leading rusher in high school football history (11,232 yards). The Trophy is cast in the likeness of Ken Hall in his 1950’s uniform. The Trophy presentation takes place after the high school season at a formal dinner on the evening before the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

Among the leading candidates for the 2008 Hall Trophy are wide receiver A.J. Green of Summerville High School in South Carolina, running back Darrell Scott of St. Bonaventure High School in California, and quarterback/defensive end Terrelle Pryor of Jeannette High School in Pennsylvania.[1]
