Halisahar is a city and a municipality under Bijpur/ Naihati police stations of Barrackpore subdivision. [2]in North 24 Parganas district in the Indian state of West Bengal. It was formerly known Kumarhata. It has an ideal blend of green with township. Wet land is still present here.

Halisahar is famous for Ramprasad Sen, the saint,the great 'Kali' devotee, creator of 'Ramprasadi songs'. One can find many ashrams here, the famous Nigamananda Asram is at Halisahar. Sri Chaitannya mahaprabhu's Guru Griha is situated near 'Chaitannya Doba'.
