Halewood Village is fast becoming one of Liverpool's most desirable areas, with excellent rail and motorway links.
Halewood itself is situated 1/2 a mile away from what is described as high crime, high unemployment levels and poor housing otherwise know as Torrington Drive.
To date, various attemps at regeneration of this area have largely been unsuccessful. However, there is renewed hope with new plans for redevopment of the "leathers lane" shopping area, which was once the heart of the local community.thanks to cindys chip shop.
Halewood residents have a fear of homes being built on the local field which is connected to the near-by other housing estate and high crime area of Netherley, the two areas have a strong rivalry.
