Welcome to Wikipedia Hakob. Great job on Gyumri. The article is primarily missing old pictures of Alexandropol as well as new pictures of the city after the earthquake.--Eupator 21:07, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Excellent

Well this is great, we can work together on articles.--Moosh88 03:45, 18 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Request for edit summary

Hi. I am a bot, and I am writing to you with a request. I would like to ask you, if possible, to use edit summaries a bit more often when you contribute. The reason an edit summary is important is because it allows your fellow contributors to understand what you changed; you can think of it as the "Subject:" line in an email. For your information, your current edit summary usage is 4% for major edits and 0% for minor edits. (Based on the last 127 major and 5 minor edits in the article namespace.)

This is just a suggestion, and I hope that I did not appear impolite. You do not need to reply to this message, but if you would like to give me feedback, you can do so at the feedback page. Thank you, and happy edits, Mathbot 04:03, 25 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Armenia stubs

Patience, young padawan! :) Somewhat troublesome cases as we got the votes first (to merge or rescope), and the change of facts afterwards. I'll leave it until tomorrow to make sure there's no late-breaking objections, then close them as keep. Alai 04:15, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Images

Barev! I have a request to you. May you check if there are similar images in WikiCommons before uploading it in English Wiki. For example, see Image:Gyumriseal.gif. And may you upload files under free licenses such as this on WikiCommons, they will be very useful for other Wikipedias. Thanks. P.S. The official symbols such as seals, flags etc. are not copyrighted by Armenian law. See description on WikiCommons ;)--FHen 21:25, 1 March 2006 (UTC)

OK. I will reupload you images to Commons --FHen 06:28, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
Done. Please do it by yourself next time :) --FHen 07:21, 2 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] azeri POV pusher

Hey Hakob, I'd like your help in keeping an eye on user baku87. He is from azerbaijan and he recently joined wiki and is now adding baised edits to article, mainly the Military of Armenia article and the Military of azerbaijan article. I hope you will be able to help me with this problem, which I fear will escalate.--Moosh88 23:25, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thank you!

I wanted to thank you for giving me that barn star today, it means a lot knowing that another editor values my work as much as I do. I'll continue to add more info to existing articles and creat new ones, I hope you will help to spread more Armenian related information on wiki. Thank you again, regards.--Moosh88 04:50, 27 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hi

Hi Hakob! Keep up the good work on Wikipedia. I might write an article or two soon. Some ideas wouldn't hurt. I'll also have to thank you for polishing some of my articles. --Davo88 04:47, 14 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] I introduce myself to Hakob

Parev, Hakob! I am an Armenian in Vancouver, BC. I don't speak Armenian, though. I am fairly new, so am puzzled by something. It appears you reverted all or most of my editing I have been doing for the past few hours. I cannot find any explanation by you or anyone. Please help! [edit] Help

Hey Hakob,

Baku87 has been going around changing all instances of a discription of Armenian control in NK to "occupation" (check his contributions, pages such as Lachin and Khojali). Can you please help me out here? The more neutral term is control. Thank you. Khoikhoi 18:48, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

Alright, cool. As I said to Baku, "control" it the most neutral word I can think of, so that's the one we should use. —Khoikhoi 00:49, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

I'm perfectly neutral, and my warning stands: as any other admin will tell you, personal attacks and other incivil behavior are not tolerated, and if you continue making them, you will be blocked. --InShaneee 20:16, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
No sorry user:Grandmaster you are not perfectly neutral. You allowed user:Grandmaster to repredetly insult me even when I asked for your help. 72.57.230.179

[edit] Sumgayit

There's a large number of Chinese in San Francisco, but we don't include the Chinese name. We only include the other languages if they're extremely relevant, i.e. we'd only include Armenian in areas controlled de facto or de jure by Armenia, and Azerbaijani in areas controlled de facto or de jure by Azerbaijan, or in areas where historical ownership has been relevant enough to mention. (That is, if the Mongols had extended that far, we wouldn't inclue the Mongol name - too far removed from the present). It's, I daresay, the most neutral way to do things. --Golbez 08:15, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

I glanced at the arguments on the talk page and it sounds like either the Azeri or Turkish names are common in English references, so that's a slightly more complex matter. However, Turkish is likely more relevant than Azeri. --Golbez 08:28, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Krikor Balakian

Parev Hakob,
nice work! Could you just skim through my article Krikor Balakian. I am not a native speaker so it would be nice someone interested in Armenian matters reads it first.--Apocolocynthosis 23:39, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

Due to your aggressive editing and participation in Armenia-Azerbaijan related pages (Koyun, Orontid Dynasty, Ganja, Melik, Caucasian Albania, Julfa, Azerbaijan, Stepanakert, Nakhichevan, Tigranes the Great)[1] and ongoing ArbCom [2], your name has been added per administrators determination that: "Anyone aggressively editing these articles should assume they are a party. Add their names and give them notice. No motion is necessary. Fred Bauder 13:48, 15 March 2007 (UTC)" [3] You are now a party and subject to all the applicable rules and regulations and injunctions, such as the 1 revert per day per article injunction. --adil 07:14, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Armenian Illuminated Manuscript

I have reverted your switch with Armenian miniature. Obviously Armenian illuminated manuscripts contain Armenian miniatures, but the original title is the more correct way to title an article on the tradition, unlike the Islamic traditions of the Persian miniature & Ottoman miniature, where works always designed as individual paintings, rather than illustraions for a book, are typical.

Also you did not perform the move correctly, leaving the old talk page stranded at the redirect, and a project banner on the redirect page. As the "new" title was a redirect already, any proposed move would have had to be put through the full Page Moves procedure anyway. Nor did you do anything about the incoming links, or amend the article to reflect the new title. Johnbod 13:13, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
