Hakham Yedidia Shofet, was the former chief rabbi of Iran and a worldwide spiritual leader of the Persian Jews. He was born on 14 November 1908 (Hebrew Calendar: 20th of Cheshvan, 5669) in Kashan, Iran and past away on 24 June 2005 (Hebrew Calendar: 17th of Sivan, 5765) In Los Angeles. Descended from twelve generations of Persian rabbis, Hakham Shofet was a remarkable rabbi that promoted unity and acceptance to all Persian Jewish people.
