Hakainde Hichilema

Hakainde Hichilema (born June 4, 1962) is the President of Zambia's United Party for National Development (UPND). He replaced Anderson Mazoka after an interparty election, organized by functioning party president Sakwiba Sikota, after Mazoka's death. He is also President of the opposition alliance United Democratic Party (UDA).
He was born in Hachipona village, Monze West, in Chief Hamusonde's area.
Hakainde Hichilema is a Tonga, from Zambia's Southern province. He is married to former office manager Mutinta Hichilema. Together, they have three children, daughter Miyanda (12), and sons Habwela (9) and Chikonka (6).

Hakainde Hichilema is now a presidential candidate for the opposition alliance, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA). Elections are held in Zambia, on September 28th, 2006.
