Hafsat Abiola

Hafsat Abiola (born 1974 in Lagos) is a Nigerian human rights and democracy activist. She was the seventh child of Moshood Abiola.
Hafsat Abiola is a human and civil rights campaigner. She is founder of the Kudirat Initiative for Democracy (KIND), which seeks to strengthen civil society and promote democracy in Nigeria. She is the daughter of the late Chief Moshood Abiola, President Elect of Nigeria who died in prison in 1995.
In 2003 Abiola was elected as an Ashoka Fellow recognising her international status as a social entrepreneur. In 2006 she was nominated for councillor at the World Future Council.
In 2006 she raised funds by organising performances of The Vagina Monologues in Nigeria. [1][2]
