Hafr Al-Batin

Hafr Al-Batin (Arabic: حفر الباطن) is a city in northeastern Saudi Arabia. It is located at around 28°26′3″N, 45°57′49″E, about 120 km from the Kuwaiti border and 70 km from the Iraqi border. It lies in a strategic position between the highways that connect Saudia Arabia to Iraq, Kuwait, Syria and Jordan. Hafr Al-Batin has a population of approximately 190,000, many of whom are of Bedouin origin. It has an old town in which many of the houses are built from mud.
