Hafis Salich

Hafis Salich was a naturalized American citizen from Russia who worked for the Office of Naval Intelligence in the 1930s. Salich was recruited by Soviet intelligence in 1938. Together with Mikhail Gorin, a Soviet intelligence Case Officer covering as the head of the Los Angeles Intourist office, Salich in 1939 were arrested and later convicted of espionage. Salich received a prison sentence and Gain received probation Gain paid a $10,000 fine and returned to the Soviet Union.
