Hafdís Huld

Hafdís Huld is an Icelandic singer, formerly of GusGus.

Hafdís Huld toured the world as a 15 year old with iconic Icelandic band GusGus. After leaving the band she started writing her own songs, and quickly collaborated with FC Kahuna, co-writing their singles ‘Hayling’ and ‘Machine Says Yes’. Elsewhere she sang with dance producers Ewan Pearson and Tom Middleton on their artist projects. In between times shes made two feature films & modelled clothing for Extreme Sports.

  • On an interview with Phil Jupitus on 6 music (8th August 2006) she revealed she was obsessed by the colour pink and chocolate, claiming that they came from God. Jupitus later claimed she was the 'most mental guest' he'd ever had in the studio.

Her debut album Dirty Paper Cup won the award of best pop album of 2006 at the Icelandic music awards, she was also nominated for best video with Tomoko.

Shortly after releasing the album in october 2006 Hafdis and her band were asked to go on tour with Paolo Nutini on an 8 date sold out tour of the UK. Other supports include Mika, Vincent Vincent and the Villains, Aberfeldy.
