"Haeckle's Tale" (also known as "Clive Barker's Haeckle's Tale") is the twelfth episode of the first season of Masters of Horror. It originally aired in North America on January 27, 2006.

A man seeking shelter in a cabin becomes involved in a grotesque orgy of the undead.
The story of Haeckel's Tale begins with a young man Mr. Ralston coming to an old woman on the account that she is a Necromancer that can revive his deceased wife. She refuses, but then decides to tell him the story of Haeckel and if he still wishes to revive his wife afterwards, she will.
The story mainly concerns Ernst Haeckel (portrayed by Derek Cecil) who is trying to follow in the footsteps of Victor Frankenstein but is unsuccessful with his attempts to perform similar experiments. Learning of his father's ill condition, he travels and encounters Walter Wolfram and his lovely wife Elise and also learns of the diabolical truth of reviving the deceased.
