Abdelgabbar Abdelhadi ABDELGABBAR (1922-date) An eminent Sudanese educator and teacher.Mr.ABDELGABBAR was born in Abu Zabad;Kordofan region; in 1922.Mr.ABDELGABBAR descends from a well known and honoured family in Kordofan.His father was a famous religious leader and the founder of the first primary school in Abu Zabad town.After completing his primary studies at Abuzabad, Mr.ABDELGABBAR moved to the secondary school at Alobeid Intermediate School and then to Gordon Memorial College.He continued his university studies at Khartoum University College( currently University of Khartoum) where he graduated from the Faculty of Science in 1947.After a brief spell of working at the Khartoum University College , he moved to a lifelong career in the high secondary schools in Sudan spannig over 36 years( 1948-1982). Mr.ABDELGABBAR was an outstanding Mathematic teacher and was famous for his supranatural mathematical abilities as well as his dedication to his subject and his students.He obtained a MSc degree in Mathematics &Education from the University of Leicester,UK in 1959.Subsequently he returned to Sudan where he worked as a Headmaster for various large secondary schools including KhorTaggat,Hantoub,Elobeid,Rufaa,Barbar, Shendi and Khartoum High Secondary School for Girls.He also worked as Educational Assisstant to Darfur Governor in 1978-1980. Mr.ABDELGABBAR is mostly rememberd for his strict descplinary rules which he instigated wherever he worked.He was known to be firm and uncompromising when it comes to school orders and descipline.Many of his ex-students subsequently occupied high ranks in Sudan civil service as well as in the political ladder. He is married to Fathia Hassan Taha and has 4 daughters and four sons,four of whom are medical doctors who graduated from the university of Khartoum, the same establishment from which he graduated in 1947. The rest of his children graduated also from the same University: Amani from Faculty of Science like her father and 'Iglal' from the Faculty of Art.For further information please contact hadihuda@yahoo.com
