Hämeenkyrö

Hämeenkyrö (Tavastkyro in Swedish) is a municipality of Finland.

It is located in the province of Western Finland and is part of the Pirkanmaa region. The municipality has a population of 10,009 and covers an area of 505.45 km² of which 40.67 km² is water. The population density is 19.8 inhabitants per km².

The municipality is unilingually Finnish.

Frans Eemil Sillanpää, a famous Finnish writer, was born in Hämeenkyrö.
