Gzennaya

Gzennya is one of the eminent berber locality of Rif in northern Morocco.

[edit] Etymology

The word is Gzennya berber. Originally the tribe was known by the land of "Igzinnayan" which means the land of beauty; that area is well known by its high mountains (Rif Mountains), huge valleys and rivers, green woods, and its curing water of Ain Hamra.

The main town of the locality is Aknoul which is surrounded by other known towns like Tizi Ousli, Ain Hamra, Ajdir, Boured, Ajbarna,Ali Bourakba and Tinemlal (all these towns are part of the tribe).

Geographically, it is situated in the province of Taza, in the region of Al-Hoceima, Taza, and Taounate.
