Gyula Thürmer (Budapest, April 14, 1953) is the current chairman of the Hungarian Communist Workers' Party.

Thürmer was called by Bono in the character of MacPhisto on July 23, 1993 when U2 visited Budapest in the Zooropa leg of their Zoo TV Tour.
