GWR 6959 Class 6960 Raveningham Hall

The Great Western Railway steam locomotive, no. 6960 "Raveningham Hall" is a 4-6-0 Modifield Hall class locomotive. Raveningham Hall was built in March 1944 at Swindon Works. First shed allocation Old Oak Common. Named June 1947. August 1950 shed allocation Old Oak Common. Transferred to Reading in September 1953, then to her last shed allocation Oxford in September 1963. Withdrawn June 1964.
Raveningham Hall was withdrawn from British Railways service in June 1964 and sold to Woodhams' Scrapyard in Barry to be cut up like the rest of her class. Thankfully she was saved for preservation from Barry Scrapyard and left the yard in October 1972. Raveningham Hall was the 26 engine to leave Barry and is now on the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway with her class mates Owsden Hall and Foremarke Hall
