GWR 4900 Class 5967 Bickmarsh Hall

The GWR 4900 Class locomotive No. 5967 Bickmarsh Hall is the locomotive before No. 5972 Olton Hall. Bickmarsh Hall was built at swindon works and was completed in March 1937. First shed allocation Chester. August 1950 shed allocation Banbury. Fitted with 3 row superheater. March 1959 shed allocation Newton Abbot. Last shed allocation Westbury. Before it was withdrawn in June 1964 and sold to Barry Scrapyard where it sat till it was bought by the Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway and left as the 187th departure from Barry in August 1987. It is preserved at the Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway in Wales where it awaits restoration with most of the railways steam engines.
