[edit] Luiz Felipe Scolari
Ahem, you mentioned that I entered some 'nonsense' on Luiz Felipe Scolari's entry? Are you using some wikipedia-specific defintion of the term nonsense? I hope so, because if you really care to look at what I did, you'll clearly see that I was attempting to alert the editors of wikipedia that Scolari's entry had been grossly vandalized. You'd be making far better use of your time by guiding me to the proper way to format such alerts. Thanks and back off.
[edit] Deleting
Going through Category:Candidates for speedy deletion is not really something you want to do on your first day. You get to meet lots of new friends. Some of them even like to send you email and the really friendly ones send you a new password. Good luck. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 16:44, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
- Strangely enough CSD clearing has never caused me any sort of stress. I actually sometimes do it when I want to do something easy and simple (like a break from WP:RFI). Petros471 16:58, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
- A couple of hints when speedy deleting (as I see that's the first thing you've wielded your mop on): If the default deletion summary contains personal information, or potentially libellous material if it was true etc (this usually occurs for A7's and attack pages) I generally clear it and just leave the deleted reason. This is because anyone can see the deletion summary, so I tend to be a bit cautious. Also if you occasionally check your deletion log you can easily see blue links re-appearing. This might mean you have to go back and delete them again. If you find you have to keep doing this to a page, where it is unlikely a good article could be written, then you put on {{deletedpage}} and apply full protection to that page. Thank you for your support in my RfA, which ended with the result of (74/0/0). If there is anything I can help with feel free to ask. Also, if there is anything I am doing wrong, please point that out as well. I look forward to working with you in the future. |
[edit] Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mind Strata
Hi. I just thought I'd tell you that I've examined the references provided on the Mind Strata talk page. That said, I'm still standing by delete as the references themselves are not of a great scope and are not constructive enough to warrant changing my vote to keep. Just thought I'd let you know. Also, thanks for your response on my talk page. It was much appreciated. Cheers.--Auger Martel 12:36, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

I think I might just leave that one for a few hours to let you do the honours :) Besides I'd just managed to clear that page, surely you can help keep it that way ;-) Petros471 13:28, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

- Wow my talk page has got busy in the last few hours! Yeh, I got your email, I think I even wrote a reply, but didn't send it as I was slighly too much of a rant. I'll go and check it out now and still see if it's worth you having. Petros471 14:15, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

I'm wondering why you deleted my message User:Mr. Lefty? I was responding to a message from him. I assume he knows that you're redacting his talk page?
Also, congratulations on your successful RfA! Herostratus 01:24, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

Thank you very much for your support on my recent RfA. I am pleased to announce that it passed with a tally of 72/11/1, and I am now an administrator. [edit] Thanks
Thank you for removing the nn-bio tag on Bob Athayde, he's a great music teacher who hass made a lot of difference in peoples' lives and now has a couple of music albums and his son may be a celebrity of sorts in the near future (has played with Wynton Marsalis). Because of Bob, I got to play bass with John Clayton (bassist) and Barry Green, and met Milt Jackson, but more importantly, he gave myself and others the opportunity to excel where they wouldn't have. He didn't give up on anyone, and I'm glad to see him succeed outside his teaching career. Thanks again --Brett
[edit] RfA thanks!
Thanks for voting! Hello Gwernol/Archive 7, and thank you so much for voting in my recent RfA. I am pleased to inform you that it passed with a final tally of (119/1/3), into the WP:100, so I have now been cleared for adminship and will soon be soaring above the clouds. I was overjoyed, shocked, and humbled by the tally, and, most importantly, all the support. Thank you. If there is ever anything you need, you know where you can find me. Take care. |

Seeing as you so kindly offered your help <grins> how about taking a peek at this page I found while patrolling new articles.
Take a particular look, if you will, at the talk page. I *think* my new friend is telling me it's a neologism... even as he proactively defends himself against (unstated) accusations of it being a dictionary entry!
Advice or intervention welcomed. Meantime, I'll be nice to the noob on his talk page. --Dweller 15:41, 20 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] User:Omarnassar
I'm going to delete this page. Normally, I'm all for userfication, but not if the only contributions someone made are to insert themselves into Wikipedia without showing any other interests. Leaving it in the userspace would mean we allow vanity, self-promotion and possible hoaxes to stay, just because they're not articles. - Mgm|(talk) 11:30, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] NameAction
Hi Gwernol, I am writing you in relation of your deletion -twice- of the article NameAction, in spite of my re-writing it following the guidelines user Bugwit recommended me when he first posted the deletion proposal. Please let me know what can I do with my article so that you stop deleting it... Thank you for your attention to this matter (Alpinoch) APA 16:58, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Second attempt at deleted page?
Hi. I am not entirely sure what I'm doing, but evidently my first try at an article didn't meet the guidelines so you deleted it. I tried again at User:Kupopo/Draft of Six Days From Sunday. I am not at all related to the band, and I think I make a sufficient case for Notibility, as they have toured the last 6 summers across the USA, UK, and Canada. How should I proceed? Thanks, Kupopo (09:04, 23 June 2006 UTC)
[edit] Northern Ireland
I would like to express just how angry I am that you deleted my article 'Chronology of Northern Ireland Trouble.' Although I initially uploaded a page with very little on it, I did return to edit it, writing an extensive article detailing events from 1969 to the present day. when I went to upload this page, I discovered I couldn't as my origonal had been deleted - by you. There is now way I am going to re-type this lenglth artice as it took me some considerable time, so thanks to you, many people will now miss out on an interesting and informative article. --62.252.152.66 15:26, 23 June 2006 (UTC) Rex maverick

[edit] A short Esperanzial update
As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.
As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.

[edit] RE: Vandalism warnings
Your Post: Hi, I notice you left a warning on User:M1ss1ontomars2k4's talk page stating that M1ss1ontomars2k4 had removed vandalism warnings from the talk page. I can see no evidence of this. In addition the warning itself was malformed. Could you point me to specific diffs that show the alleged removal of warnings from M1ss1ontomars2k4's talk page? If not I can only assume this is a mistake. I have reverted your edit to M1ss1ontomars2k4's talk page, for now at least. Thanks, Gwernol 13:41, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
- My Response: I have no idea what happened. I am still fairly new to using Vandal Proof, and I can only assume I hit the wrong button or something. Thanks for catching that! I've also left an apology on the user's talk page. --NMChico24 21:22, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Please explain CSD:A7
I just posted a brief article regarding a biographical interview I conducted a few weeks ago (still working on the article itself, used the brief as a reference for the article. But then the brief article was flagged for speedy deletion. I put a "hangon" in there and gave a detailed explanation in talk. But this was ignored, and you deleted my article with no explanation, except for "CSD:A7", which I have no idea what that means. I'm new to Wiki, and I really wish the admins here could be a little more newbie-friendly. I'm still learning how to use it, and flashing weird codes at me barely minutes after I post something doesn't tell me anything. I hope you won't mind if I re-create it. Please, PLEASE put something in talk and let me know what the issue is! I'm new and very intimidated by all this, and I don't think I'm being unreasonable in wanting a little help before my work is tossed in the trash. I renamed it to a less ambiguous title of "Kris Craig Interview". —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Pub biographer (talk • contribs) .

[edit] Geraldine123
I wanted to bring this matter to your attention, because I am not certain what the policy is, and I do not know how to proceed. Geraldine123 has been adding external links to a great many articles today (I cannot even count the total number of additions she has made but they number more than 150) all of which are to interviews on the Suicide Girls website. Is it in keeping with Wikipedia policy to allow an individual to add so many external links all of which point to one website---a website with which, presumably, this individual has a connection---to articles throughout the site? Furthermore, if this is a violation, reverting all these edits would be very time-consuming. I'd like to hear your take on the matter. Thanks for your time. ---Charles 20:43, 26 June 2006 (UTC)
- Ok, never mind, some other editors got involved, the spam has been removed, and the user in question blocked. ---Charles 21:05, 26 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Re. your message on User talk:71.102.76.166
Hi. If that comment was aimed at me, I can assure you that I was the victim of a vicious personal attack. That's why I left. I did not name names in my comments to User:Konstable. Apparently, Wikipedia isn't getting any more civil anytime soon, so I'll be on my way. 71.102.76.166 via 74.62.5.240 22:40, 26 June 2006 (UTC)
Oops...never mind. Forgot about that little bomb I dropped on that vandal account. Still, it's real hard to remain civil in the face of the overwhelming amount of crap that this side gets hit with. My apologies for slipping down to his level. - 74.62.5.240 23:52, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

Except for the teensy weensy little problem of that assertion being obvious nonsense. Or does any assertion of notability, no matter how ludicrous, get a "Get Out of Jail Free" card? --Calton | Talk 02:19, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] De_chateau
Hi. Can you explain why you are against the article de_chateau? The original prod tag said that I could remove it once I improved the article. I just spent an hour doing so, and then you immediately filed it for AfD... I thought I was following protocol. David Bergan 15:35, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
- I understand the policy of notability, but there are already more than 20 CS maps that have articles. Why are you only objecting to this one? Mhhmhm... Why did you add the POV mark to Valentino Zeichen? Maybe did you suspect he wrote it by himself? Of c ourse not. If you check the Internet you'll find a lot of reference to him. He publishes little, mainly due to his extravagant behaviour, but it weel respected by at least Italian literature establishment. Ciao! User:Attilios
[edit] Woman
May I ask why you reverted my edit on Woman without any comment? Did you regard it as vandalism or what? --85.187.44.131 14:07, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
I see, but I think that it is as relevant as writing that she is European and modern (also obvious things, but the point of mentioning them is to stress that they aren't "default"). Omitting to mention her depilation (not only in the pubic area) suggests that that's how women look normally (whatever that means). One of the main arguments of the pro-Frau side is that it shows "biological reality", so according to this logic such a noticeable deviation from "biological reality" should be mentioned. Makeup and nail polish could also be mentioned, of course, but they aren't so noticeable.--85.187.44.131 14:41, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
