The Graphics, Visualization, and Usability (GVU) Center is an interdisciplinary research center located near Technology Square in Atlanta, Georgia and affiliated with the Georgia Institute of Technology. It was founded by James D. Foley, the Center's first director, in 1991. According to U.S. News & World Report, it is one of the best such facilities in the world.[1][2] The GVU Center's current director is Elizabeth D. Mynatt,[3] a Georgia Tech College of Computing faculty member.
The GVU Center focuses on human-computer interaction, ubiquitous computing, mixed/augmented reality, computer animation/graphics, wearable computing, information visualization, educational technologies (learning sciences and technology), new media, communications, intelligent systems/robotics, computer supported cooperative work and online communities.
