The Guyanas or Guianas is a group of three countries on the northeast coast of South America:

  1. Guyana, formerly known as British Guiana
  2. Suriname, formerly known as Dutch Guiana
  3. Guyane française (French Guiana) - an overseas department of France where the Guiana Space Centre (a launch pad for the French/European Space Agency) is found.

The term is sometimes also used to include parts of neighboring countries:

  1. Guayana Region, an administrative region of Venezuela (where the city of Ciudad Guayana is located), also known as Venezuelan Guiana, formerly known as Spanish Guiana
  2. Brazilian Guiana, formerly known as Portuguese Guiana

When the Venezuelan and Brazilian territories are included, the geographical boundaries are the Atlantic Ocean to the northeast, the Orinoco to the northwest, the Amazon River to the southeast.
