Guy de Faye is a member of the States of Jersey and is Jersey's Minister for Transport and Technical Services
He is Deputy for Saint Helier No. 3 district.
He was born in Jersey in 1955. He was educated at Grouville Primary School, then at Victoria College Preparatory, and at Victoria College. He read law at Kingston University (Surrey), and gained a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Law. He was a president of Kingston Polytechnic Student Union.
Before entering the States, he enjoyed a career as a presenter with Channel Television, during which time he was the branch chairman of the National Union of Journalists (Jersey), and the Father of the Chapel (NUJ) at Channel Television. He achieved a certain notoriety for blasting the station mascot, Oscar Puffin, with a shotgun; the incident being broadcast on a late night television news slot.
He later joined the ITN News team as a reporter on ITN World News for a period of seven years.
