Guy D'Artois

Major Lionel Guy d'Artois, Croix de Guerre (born 1917) was a Canadian Army officer and SOE agent.
d'Artois was born in Richmond, Quebec in 1917. He was a student at the Universite de Montreal.
He joined the First Special Service Force during World War II. In 1943 he volunteered for SOE. He served in F section until 1945. Codename Dieudonne. He parachuted into Saone and Loire, France one month before D-Day. There he organized, armed and operated with units of the Free French Forces. For his efforts he was awarded the Croix de guerre.
After the war, he was promoted to major and made commanding officer of the Canadian SAS company. He served with the Royal 22nd Regiment "Van Doos" in Korea.
