Guto Harri

Guto Harri (born 1966) is the BBC's North American Business Correspondent based in New York.

His first name is pronounced "GITT-o", the vowel in the second syllable being undiphthongised (IPA /'gɪtɒ/).

Guto Harri was born in Cardiff in Wales, the son of the doctor and writer, Harri Pritchard-Jones. A native Welsh speaker, Guto was educated at the Welsh-medium Ysgol Gyfun Llanhari (Llanhari Comprehensive School) and Queen's College, Oxford.

He started his broadcasting career in Welsh-language radio before moving into national radio and television. He was previously a reporter on The World At One, a political correspondent and correspondent from Rome.
