GUT chart
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
GUT Chart is a German[citation needed] table that defines guidelines on how to prioritize tasks in order to achieve higher productivity. The chart provides simple 5 categories under which each task is assigned a value (multiple assignments are allowed) and at the end the task with the highest score gets performed.
Value | (G)ravity | (U)rgency | (T)endency |
5 | Severe gravity | Immediate action is needed | If nothing is done the situation will get worse |
4 | Very serious | Some urgency | Will worsen a bit in a while |
3 | Serious | The earliest possible | Will worsen in the small run |
2 | Slightly serious | It can wait a while | Will worsen in the long run |
1 | Not serious | There is no hurry | Will not worsen, it could even improve |
