Gustav Pickering

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Gustav Pickering[1] was a Namibian cricketer. He was a tailending batsman, partnered with Rudi Scholtz for the Namibian cricket team which played at the Cricket World Cup of 1998.

Pickering, amongst other players including, most notably, Pieter Burger, was involved in a dispute with the Namibian management when he along with a group of his team-mates were sent home from the World Cup for what was to be known as the "Room 102 incident". This would lead to serious discussion with the Namibian cricket board as to the appropriate course of action, when the players agreed that they would withdraw from cricket for a month.
