I hope you like this place — I sure do — and want to stay. Before getting too in-depth, you may want to read about the Five pillars of Wikipedia and simplified ruleset. If you need help on how to title new articles check out the naming conventions, and for help on formatting the pages visit the manual of style. If you need help look at Wikipedia:Help and the FAQ , plus if you can't find your answer there, check the Village Pump (for Wikipedia related questions) or the Reference Desk (for general questions)! There's still more help at the Tutorial and Policy Library. Plus, don't forget to visit the Community Portal. And if you have any more questions after that, feel free to post them on my user talk page or place {{helpme}}
on your talk page and someone will be by to help you shortly.
[edit] Additional tips
Here's some extra tips to help you get around in the 'pedia!
- If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills the Sandbox is for you.
- You can sign your name using three tildes (~). If you use four, you can add a datestamp too. Five will get you the datestamp only.
- You may want to add yourself to the new user log.
- If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the votes for deletion page. There is also a votes for undeletion page if you want to retrieve something that you think should not have been deleted.
- If you're still entirely confused, or would like to get a better grasp of your wikipedia skills, and you have an IRC client (or don't mind getting one), check out the Bootcamp. It's not what it sounds like, but it is fun and can help you with your editing skills.
- If you're bored and want to find something to do, try the Random page button in the sidebar, or check out the Open Task message in the Community Portal.

[edit] License tagging for Image:Southislandgg.PNG
Thanks for uploading Image:Southislandgg.PNG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia, Gurko! However, your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove spam from Wikipedia. If you were trying to insert a good link, please accept my creator's apologies, but note that the link you added, matching rule img[0-9]*\.imageshack\.us/img[0-9]*/.*\.png, is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. [edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Godzillavszilla.PNG)
Thanks for uploading Image:Godzillavszilla.PNG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Bigfoot_main.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:Bigfoot_main.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

[edit] {{Sonic games}} inclusion criteria
An inclusion criteria for {{Sonic games}} has been proposed at Template talk:Sonic games#Proposed inclusion criteria, with an introductory preamble at Template talk:Sonic games#Shadow III: Son of Shadow. You are cordially invited to discuss the proposal. —davidh.oz.au 00:00, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
Sure, I'll discuss. Gurko 11:33, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] E-123 Omega
The official design is the one in the website, not the one that appears in a single game. Heh, even newer games take the S2k6 design away.
And the official art fits better that a game render.
Good point... Feel free to use the Channel one then. Gurko 20:38, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Hi
It seems we have a crisis on our hands. User:Eriorguez has changed all the character pictures from official game art to Sonic Channel art without forming any sort of consensus. The existing consensus (See Talk:Sonic the Hedgehog (character)/Archive 2#Images on other Sonic-related pages keep getting altered) is not to use them if there is no evidence that these images will become the new standard for the characters. Please help me revert these undiscussed changes on sight. —davidh.oz.au 00:10, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
- Ah, never mind, I just discovered where the poor soul posted his request: Template talk:Sonic characters, of all places. Sad. Anyway, I've informed him of what our standard is on this subject, so we hopefully won't have a repeat performance. All of those Sonic Channel images had no source or copyright info anyway. Crisis averted. —davidh.oz.au 06:11, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
I noticed, but didn't really give it much attention. You seem to have handled it while I was asleep though. Gurko 07:54, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
