Anyway, do you think it was okay that i moved the WP:RM manually and also created archive 88? Did i do the right thing to get Werdnabot to go to the new archive, by changing the code?
Its weird. Even though stats say that <1% are Admins, i still think half i know are admins. Simply south

deleted article
Hello, A brief article I wrote was deleted by you as "Unremarkable people, groups, companies and web content". It was about a mostly forgotten old hardcore group (Damage), but in the context of a list containing many much more obscure bands that haven't been deleted, that categorization seems odd. What sort of information needs to added to indicate that the band in question wasn't "unremarkable"? potanka 19:37, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

Recurrent vandalism by 204.38.101.7
Hi! User 204.38.101.7, blocked by Gurch on 20th December for repeated vandalism, seems to be at it again on the "French wine" page. Please accept my humble apologies if I've gone about reporting this the wrong way, I'm a complete newbie. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Philip Trueman (talk • contribs) 17:04, 10 January 2007 (UTC).
Template protections
Hello Gurch, I hope you are doing well. I noticed that you perm-protected Template talk:WikiProject Texas and some other templates today. If you don't mind, I would like to inquire as to your reasoning. That particular template has existing for a long time without any trouble. Did something specific prompt the protections? Do you have a certain criteria you are using to decide which ones to protect? Thanks very much for satisfying our curiosity. Johntex\talk 07:01, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
- Seems like Semi-protection would be better suited with problem templates getting full protection. Morphh (talk) 19:49, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
Protection on images
Please don't assume I ignored your warning; I uploaded two images yesterday, Image:Stop.png and Image:Stop X.png. Because Stop.png and Information.png were already protected, I forgot that Stop X.png wasn't. -- Renesis (talk) 20:56, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

I seemed to have sparked some criticism of your actions, and to fair I agreed with it, in the above thread and thought it only proper that you should be made aware of it. We are responding to a Google inquiry and, we get here. "Gurch" leaves the day after the bio of Lee Nysted is deleted?
Is there a reason why the music history and discography of Lee Nysted is not listed here?
Lee's band members? Current projects? The Lee Nysted Experience?
It is clear to us that he is listed in nearly every other publication on earth.

Edit To Kombai
The edit to the Kombai article was an accident. There was vandalism on the page I intended to delete but my changes blanked the article by mistake. I intended to fix this but I became sidetracked before I could. I'm sorry, I didn't intend vandalism. – 24.3.46.220 04:40, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
Geo-stubs
Hi Gurch - good to see you adding stubs to articles. Can I ask one favour though? Almost every country in the world now has its own separate geo-stub in the form CountryName-geo-stub (e.g., Italy-geo-stub, SriLanka-geo-stub). If you can add the country where possible when you stub, it'll save a bit more work further down the line. Cheers, and keep up the good work :) Grutness...wha? 05:02, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry, laziness on my part. I'll try and use slightly more specific tags
Any help is still good work, even if it's just the geo-stub tag. I just wasn't sure whether you knew about the country tags. Grutness...wha? 05:13, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
Well, feel free to drop by at WP:WSS, the stub sorting wikiproject. Any new stub sorter (and any returning stub sorter from years past!) is always welcome :) Grutness...wha? 05:30, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
Uncategorized articles
Please be aware that putting a stub marker on an article, as you did with Adowal, isn't good enough - please put in an actual category. Stub categories are Wikipedia maintenance categories, not subject categories. Eli Falk 11:56, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

why did you delete...
Why did you delete the User:Ariele page?
I learned it was deleted when I was writing a reply to someone in which I was going to list the various sockpuppets who have harrassed me.
Ariele was the first sockpuppet vandal to stalk me. I made a big mistake to allow her to stalk me for so long. I did so because she seemed to be, well, mentally unbalanced, and did not seem to be aware that her actions were so contrary to the rules. I'd like to be able to return to her list of User contributions, to see where I went wrong, and cite her behavior in examples.
Now I don't know how to document that abuse.
What do you suggest I do now?
Was this deletion in conformance to some policy?
Cheers! -- Geo Swan 19:00, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

Comment from Evlekis
When you return here, if this is still fresh in your mind, I apologise for the slight mix-up regarding Joszef Kasza. By reverting, I didn't realise that I was replacing a gallery of no significance, where-as my only intention was to change the font of the Cyrillic: having italics mde the stroke (/) look like an lower-case L. Once again, my apologies. Evlekis 14:39, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

Album listed in AMG Notable players, e.g., Matt Walker on the album. Worldwide digital and retail exposure, e.g., Amazon, iTunes, etc. It looks and sounds just like a likely article candidate. Comment from Anetode
You know, at first I tried to help by protecting this page after seeing the amount of irritation it had apparently caused you. The apology for doing so, and the rest of the note, were probably not a good idea, but now I don't care. Your treatment of this whole thing has been just immature. Yes, Wikipedia is a bureaucracy with too many pedantic pricks running about. Yes, users littering your talk page with inane barnstars and admin nomination requests can wear thin after a while. But then just exploding, taking your stress out on others, and admonishing those who dare try to lend support - all of this is just plain childish. You want to retire? Go ahead, everyone appreciated the work you have done. But then don't check your talk page every day and leave insulting messages, no one here deserves your abuse. Leave with grace, like others have done, even though they grew tired of Wikipedia. Or, better yet, stop the whole drama queen act, assume some responsibility, and come back to helping us make this a worthwhile project. Don't talk to the users you don't like, don't frequent areas that tick you off, contribute in a way that brings only enjoyment to you. Or don't, it's your choice, but know that your attitude is transparent. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 21:11, 31 March 2007 (UTC) ˉˉanetode╦╩ 00:27, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
- Apologies for irritating you and anyone else who I may have irked along the way. On balance your decision to protect the page was probably a good one. It would have been fine had nobody made a fuss.
- I'm not leaving because I've grown tired of Wikipedia. I would have gone a lot more calmly if I were. You're free to find fault in the manner of my departure (and I readily confess there is much to be found), but please bear in mind that doing so doesn't help anyone. Yes, my conduct was less than satisfactory, for which I have already apologized, and yes, my behaviour may be viewed as childish.
- I wish I could simply "not talk to the users I don't like", but that just isn't possible. Not any more, for any length of time. I wish it were, but it isn't. I'm sorry. My actions were wrong, and I should have seen this coming and found a more constructive way to go about things. I understand that the continued reading and blanking of messages on my talk page may be viewed as unacceptable, and I shall stop doing so. If you feel I've violated a policy, by all means take things further.
- A bit of explanation, which should hopefully show you why my departure has nothing to do with barnstars or anything remotely along those lines. I didn't really want people knowing about this (other than those I told privately) because I didn't want to cause unncecessary hassle, however it is perhaps best to be honest. This is not my only account. I have been contributing for eighteen months. I was an administrator for six months. I got frustrated with the project in January and briefly quit, decided I might be able to make things work if I came back under a different name and started afresh, did so, but only delayed the inevitable and ended up much worse off as a result. User:Gurch is my other account. Take any action which you feel may be necessary. In hindsight, this was a very bad idea, for which I apologize once again. I will, as you request, go properly this time.
- Thank you and good luck – Qxz 22:19, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

Help!
I see you just moved the banner style ads to template namespace, but before you did that, the page also included links to speedy deletion logs and the like. Your regular userspace redirects to your talk page. Where can I find those logs? I find them quite useful. (Please answer on my talk page) - Mgm|(talk) 08:31, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
To encourage fact checking I would like to see a banner to promote Wikipedia:WikiProject Fact and Reference Check, but my art skills are pretty much non-existent. Welcome back ;)
Welcome back, Gurch. Did you enjoy being a nonadmin? I wish (honestly speaking) more admins would do that when they get frustrated/tired of the tools. It's sometimes refreshing to be a non-admin for a change. Until you break on the other side, of course.
And I do hope this isn't an April Fools' Day prank you're pulling. Heh. – Chacor 01:23, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
