Gurmit Singh Aulakh

Dr. Gurmit Singh Aulakh has served as the unelected President of the Council of Khalistan, a USA based organization since its inception. It is distinct from the British based "Khalistan Council". It received the Non-Governmental Status at the United Nations in 1987. He has done expensive lobbying with sympathetic politicians in USA. Dr. Paramjit Singh Ajrawat is a close associate.

According to CAK "On October 7, 1987, the Sikh Nation declared its independence from India, naming its new country Khalistan. The Council of Khalistan is the government pro tempore of Khalistan, leading the Sikh struggle for freedom." This view is not accepted by any other organization in the world.

Aulakh received his Doctorate from Howard University and served on the faculty of Harvard Medical School. He authored over 25 scientific papers and has collaborated with members of the National Cancer Institute enviral research.
