Gurdwaras in India

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Historic Gurdwaras in India are those gurdwaras built to honor important people contributing to, or significant events occurring during, the growth of Sikhism primarily in what is now Punjab, India. Of the hundreds of gurdwaras in India, Pakistan, and around the world, only a few hold the honor given by all Sikhs to these sites. The Punjab (Land of the Five Rivers) in historical times included much of what is now Pakistan (for those gurdwaras see Gurdwaras in Pakistan).
