GURPS RebornRebirth is a role-playing game supplement that was written in Japanese language for the GURPS 4th Edition. It was written by Shou Tomono, Tadaaki Kawahito and Group SNE, then published in 2006.
The setting is contemporary Japan. The world trees come from another dimension and appeared in the sky all over the world several years ago. The seeds of world trees (called Over Seed aka O.S.) interfered in the real world, and made guardian spirits called Yuurei (lit. ghost) appear. Every player characters (PC) possesses his own Yuurei and fights against bad Yuureis.
Architypes of PC and Yuurei are prepared as follows:
- The Pairs of PC and Yuurei
- Highschool boy and samurai girl in the Bakumatsu or Meiji period
- Junior high school girl and miko (oracle of shinto) in the Heian period
- Police officer and gentleman thief
- Biology teacher and ghost bird
- The girl who shapeshifts into a tiger (tiger is Yuurei)
- Idol singer and intelligent computer
- Yakuza and knight of England in the Hundred Years' War
- Researcher of Yuurei and military nurse
Yuureis are categorized as follows:
- Categories of Yuureis - are named after plants.
- Rose - Ghosts of actual people: ancestors, historical people, friends and love interests.
- Lotus - Fictitious characters in animes, comics, novels, games and urban legends.
- Iris - Ghosts of victims of accidents and disasters.
- Blossom - Spirits of animals, nature and objects.
- Cactus - Legendary monsters, youkais, spirits, demons and deities.
- Orchid - Others excluding the above-mentioned.
