The Guptara Twins (both born November 22, 1988) are twin teenage novelists of Indian and British origins who live in Switzerland.
The co-authors, Suresh Guptara and Jyoti Guptara, work together on the Insanity Saga, a fantasy epic. The first book in this series was their debut, Conspiracy of Calaspia, of which they finished the first draft at the age of eleven. This book made them bestselling authors at the age of seventeen.
The brothers are fraternal twins as opposed to identical twins. Suresh is the older of the two by twenty minutes, making Jyoti the youngest of four.
The twins learned to read and write at the age of three. They grew up in Farnham, Surrey, UK, before moving to Switzerland aged 7, where they learned German and attended local Swiss schools. The literary pair went on imaginary adventures together and were avid readers. "The two interests fused, and the natural conclusion was to write ourselves," says Jyoti. Several attempts to write stories failed, but at the age of eleven they succeeded. "It's just the first step, our childhood dream," says Suresh, unfazed by success.

[edit] Media
The twin authors have been welcomed into the literary community very warmly, with good reviews for Calaspia and extensive media coverage, including international TV and radio.
Of course, the twins have received much attention because of their obviously newsworthy attributes: their youth, the fact they are twins writing together, and their international heritage make them spectacularly unique and interesting authors.
Rome-based news agency Asia News noted that "the Guptara twins are becoming a symbol for all youth of the state [India]. Western fantasy literature has a big following in the twins’ country of origin. Given the richness of Indian mythology, critics believe Calaspia may become a model and source of inspiration for many other aspiring authors."
