It's easy to list books that you own by ISBN in your own user space page, where other users can search for them, but periodicals is another matter.

Verifiable information from reliable sources, properly cited is essential to Wikipedia.

An editor working on an article may have heard of an available fact source in a discussion board, on a magazine's website, or in a news item.

The editor may want to

• verify that an attribued statement actually appears in the source, or
• get more information from the source.

Sometimes sources are not available online, but in print, and some of these sources may be out of print and unavailable as back issues and from libraries, or it may be otherwise difficult for an editor to access these sources.

For this purpose, I'm listing some wikipedia editors that own particular books and magazine issues, and can be helpful in

• confirming that a statement appears in the source
• confirming that "convenience links" correctly represent the source that they purport to contain
• becomming involved in working on articles on the article

[edit] How to use this page

Suggested use:

[edit] Simple confirmation

1. Editor A prepares the citation as fully as possible, including filling out the <ref> and {{cite}} and keeps them in a userspace or talkspace page
2. Editor A contacts editor B
3. B confirms the source
4. Editor B puts the actual citation in the article. (This way A doesn't have to trust B more than the rest of the 'pedia does).
5. Editor A profusely thanks editor B :-)

[edit] Request for involvement

1. Editor A finds that an article could benefit from more sources and information
2. Editor a tags the article with the proper {{citationneeded}} tags and other tags, possibly marking sections as stubs
3. Editor A asks editor B to kindly help with the article

This format for periodicals. Books can be listed in userspace instead, with ISBN numbers. Then the search function can be used to find users who owns a particular book.
