Gulf and Florida Northern Railroad

Florida state law chapter 4262, approved May 22, 1893, incorporated the Gulf and Florida Northern Railroad Company, owned by Horace Tucker, H. H. Brown, Andrew Relm, J. G. Fuller, of the state of Illinois; John E. Cailey, W. H. Milton, Jr., M. L. Dekle, James F. Glen and John H. Dawson, of the State of Florida,

The railroad was promised land grants, provided that construction began within six months of the act and completion within four years. The railroad was to be standard gauge.
