Could anyone explain how to add harmony to a tune? e.g. how to discover which chords could be used to accompany a simple one voice tune.

If you're playing a Blues based harmony, you have to find the tonic chord first, and than follow through the harmony:
1 1 1 1 4 4 1 1 5 5 4 4 1 1 5
The numbers represent degrees on the scale. For instance, if playing on C:
C C C C F F C C G G F F C C G
Note: The chords will only work if you playing on 4/4
Hope i've helped you.

Hi everyone, newbie here, I did a search for self tuning guitars and keywords of the like and didn't find anything, so I thought a page or two on self tuning guitars would be worth the effort. I found some great stuff... can I link it here? Not really html-literate in any great sense but can make do, if someone would like to help or point me in the right direction that would be great. I guess I'll just start writing in Word and see what I come up with. Elvisfromtj 08:39, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Guitar-related articles in need of updating
I've copied this from my statement on the effects unit page: Across the "effects unit", "effects pedal" and "guitar effects" pages, there appears to be a lot of redundant content. People are arguing on the "effects unit" page against merging "unit" and "pedal," but could we perhaps retitle "effects unit" to be multi-effects unit, or "rack effects (unit)? I feel that just 'unit' is somewhat vague, and if we agreed to just write about rack effects, or multieffects units, and said as much, it might be more clear. A distinction would have to be made between rack and floor multieffects units. -dialectric User:Dialectric

Anything else... Does anyone know much about "Ventura" guitars. They are Asian made from the '70's. I'm looking at a 12-string electric, circa. early '70's, but the seller doesn't know much about the history. Thanks.
