[edit] History
The arena was built in 2000 for $21 Million Dollars. The debate over finding a location as well as the cost was debated for over a decade, when the Guelph Platers moved in 1989. It replaced Memorial Gardens as the home of the Guelph Storm of the Ontario Hockey League. The arena was built on the site of the old Eaton's store in downtown Guelph.
