Gubkin

Gubkin (Russian: Гу́бкин) is a town in Belgorod Oblast, Russia, located on the Oskolets River (Oskol's tributary) 138 km north-east of Belgorod. It is the administrative center of Gubkinsky District. Population: 86,083 (2002 Census); 73,848 (1989 Census).
Founded in the 1930s in place of the village of Korobkovo. Urban-type settlement status since 1939; town status since 1955.
