Talk:Gross weight

[edit] merger
Gross weight has a much broader definition - it's the weight of something combined with something else. Like a cake and its packaging. Or (perhaps) a vehicle and passengers. But what about the fuel? --Dweller 11:53, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
There SHOULD be a merger here, because net weight and gross weight are the same thing, just used in different contexts. There should be a section under gross weight that talks about net weight, but having two small articles on the subject, one a complete stub, is pointless. I think gross weight is the more general term, and should be used as the title, with net weight being a section in the article Charlesblack 16:40, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
