[edit] Stub status
I've removed the stub template - while this remains a short article, I don't feel there is much more information to be added here. --Urbane legend 10:45, 12 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] various
- As I recall (and the Encyclopedia of Arda confirms), the first Grond was a mace, not a warhammer.
- There's no indication that Sauron stashed the mace somewhere for thousands of years before reforging it into a battering ram. One was named after the other, but that's it.
- The etymology of the name would be a worthwhile addition; the page linked above says it means club but doesn't say whether that's from a real language or one of Tolkien's invention.
- I removed the external link to the black metal band; if it's ever famous enough for an article then it can be disambiguated appropriately.
