Grownups
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Grownups is a BBC3 sitcom written by Susan Nickson,[1] who also created the popular BBC3 sitcom Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps. It follows the trials and tribulations of a group of 20-something friends, facing the decision to settle down or carrying on partying.[1]
The first episode aired on 7 May 2006 on BBC3 [1] and appeared at No. 5 on the BARB top 10 of most watched BBC3 prigrammes for that week. It made only one more showing on the chart- at No. 9 two weeks later- for the rest of its run.

[edit] Characters
Michelle (Sheridan Smith) is the main focus of the show. She's a 26-year-old nutritionist,[1] who lives in the trendy Northern Quarter of Manchester. Despite her job, Michelle's life is a contradiction, because she is passionate about alcohol, squirty cream and her favorite food, Flumps.
Mike (Rob Rouse) is Michelle's brother, who lives with her after he was kicked out of his parents house in the first episode.[2] He is a DJ[2] and has a strange obsession with singing the song he wrote: "DJ Mike, making love to you every night."
Claire (Fiona Wass) is Michelle's best mate and is very much the stereotype of this stock sit-com figure- excepting witty one-liners, caustic observations, a hint at depth or indeed anything that might make this character interesting or require talent in the writing/acting of it.
A beautician.[1] She is very wild and loves biting men. From her behaviour towards both genders, she could be either bisexual or she could be just a single young woman willing to experiment, flirt and have fun with both genders before settling down.
Grant (Steven Meo) has fancied Michelle for years,[2] and is always wondering why she hasn't gone for his Welsh charms. He is a solicitor, he's sensitive, he's smart,[2] he has a rather large obsession with Judge John Deed.
Dean (O-T Fagbenle) is the new man in Michelle's life, although he worries Michelle isn't into commitment.[2]
