Grove/Atlantic Inc.

Grove/Atlantic Inc. is a New York-based independent publishing house that was formed by the merger of Grove Press and Atlantic Monthly Press. Grove/Atlantic's imprints (Grove Press, Atlantic Monthly Press, Canongate U.S., Black Cat, and Open City) publish literary fiction, nonfiction, poetry, drama, and translations. Notable authors include Sherman Alexie, Mark Bowden, Charles Frazier, Jim Harrison, Michael Tolkin, John Kennedy Toole, William S. Burroughs, and Samuel Beckett, among others.

Four out of the six books short-listed for the 2006 Man Booker Prize were published by Grove/Atlantic: Kiran Desai's The Inheritance of Loss, Kate Grenville's The Secret River, Maria Hyland's Carry Me Down, and Edward St. Aubyn's Mother's Milk, with The Inheritance of Loss going on to win the award in October 2006.

Grove/Atlantic has a UK imprint, Atlantic Books, Ltd, which is also responsible for publishing Guardian Books.
