Ground effect

Ground effect - is a generic term describing all aerodynamic effects due to a flying body's proximity to the ground. It can refer to two quite different effects:
- Ground effect in aircraft, an effect most notable in fixed wing aircraft that has been utilized to produce the ground effect vehicle. Similar effects also occur on helicopters and other aircraft, for a variety of reasons.
- Ground effect in cars, an effect that is used to generate downforce and thereby improve handling.
- Ground effects aerodynamic body parts to produce downforce.
