Groundwork Monitor Open Source is a packaging of Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP, and includes popular open source projects such as Nagios, RRDtool, and Syslog-NG. It is intended to give system administrators a fast, easy way to implement, configure, and customize these tools for their specific installations, as well as integrate other tools such as ticketing systems, paging gateways, network mapping tools, etc.
GroundWork Monitor Open Source is licensed under the GNU General Public License Version 2 as published by the Free Software Foundation. Included packages are licensed under their issuing open source licenses.
GroundWork Open Source Inc. offers support for the GroundWork Monitor Open Source package, as well as for a commercial version with more features and extensions. Professional services are also available.

GroundWork Open Source Inc. was founded by former executives of the SiteROCK corporation, in Oakland California, in 2004. The comany name is intended to convey the purpose of provding the software foundation for monitoring IT infrastructures.
