Grorud is the name of both a subway station and a railway station.
[edit] Subway station
The subway station is on Grorudbanen in the Grorud borough, between the stations of Ammerud and Romsås. It is on the south side of a tunnel entrance. Above the station is a small cluster of shops and a small bus terminal.
The station was the end station of the original section of Grorudbanen, opened October 16, 1966, and remained the end station until it was extended to Rommen on March 3, 1974.

[edit] Railway station
The railway station, on the old Hovedbanen, is also located in the Grorud borough, but is more than a kilometre south of the subway station. Grorud is served by commuter trains which run between Lillestrøm in the east and Asker or Drammen in the west. The station is between Nyland and Haugenstua. The station is as old as the Norwegian railway network itself, and was opened in 1854.
