[edit] Wikipedia:Spanish Translation of the Week

I would like to revive this project. I noticed that you've added yourself to the list of available Spanish-to-English translators. Are you interested in working on Spanish Translation of the Week? — J3ff 06:29, 21 Feb 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Untagged Image?

Please add a image tag describing the source of the image you uploaded, Image:Concepcion.jpg. If we don't know the source, it may eventually have to be deleted... If you took it yourself, the easiest tag is just to put {{GFDL}} on the Image page. Otherwise, see Wikipedia:Image_copyright_tags. Thanks, it's a nice image! JesseW 20:07, 1 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Monterey Pine

Out of curiosity - don't people in Chile call it "Pino radiata", rather than "Radiata Pine"? (interestingly, for comparison, it is "Pino insigne" or "Pino de Monterrey" in Spain) - MPF 17:04, 29 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:MonumentRodriguez.jpg

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:MonumentRodriguez.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Stan 05:23, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Tri Nations Aggregate

Hi Gringo, I just want to clear up the ituation regarding the template. I submitted the champions page to the FLC, and a reviewer suggested that the template should be deleted as it is only in that article. So I went through the steps of nominating it for deletion as the reviewer suggested. But, I then realised it was on the ABs page, and I then saw your message on the main talk page about using it on other pages and how it only has to be updated once. So I removed the deletion tag quickly!! Sorry about that! Hope its all good. Cvene64 11:25, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

Thanks I'm glad you like it, another user (from the Featured List Candidate) changed the one on that page, so I though I'd give the colspan look a try on your template as well. Nice work on all the tables in the individual tournaments, the Tri Nations articles are shaping up quite nicely in time for the 06 Series! Cheers. Cvene64 14:45, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] User:MILH

Hi there. User MILH is really a case study. He's spreading his POV throughout several articles related to Chile (Augusto Pinochet, Paulina Lyon incident, Juntas de Abastecimientos y Precios and Machuca) and adding irrelevant information to Michelle Bachelet. Can you help me out on this one? Thanks. ☆ CieloEstrellado 23:14, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] "Squashed" image

Please do not edit or remove the signed comments of other users, as you did on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ice Age 3. Some users consider this to be a failing in etiquette at best, or vandalism at worst. Thanks you. 81.104.165.184 19:01, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] 38 Acres and Speedy deletion

Hey -- I declined your speedy deletion request here and replaced it with a WP:PROD. Speedy deletion (for {{db-band}} and {{db-bio}}) applies strictly only to articles that don't even explain why the subject should be important. In this case, the band is described as having an album out, and having been on tour, and is described as "popular." That isn't much for a band, but it's enough that the accuracy of those statements could use verifying. We do have WP:BAND, but articles that don't describe how their subject meets that guideline are not necessarily deletable via speedy deletion. Speedy deletion is only for article with no description of importance whatsoever. Mangojuicetalk 13:37, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Tri nations

I am satisfied that the move request is going nowhere and therefore have no objections to you starting a new move request. Whether this is correct protocol or not is another matter.GordyB 12:37, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

You could contact an admin. I'd suggest one of the two who closed move requests one and two or somebody in the union project with admin status as Stormie has IIRC. Personally I'd leave it as it will get closed in a few days and it isn't urgent.GordyB 14:12, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Too quick on the move trigger finger

Just want to inform you that your move of Axel Rappe (born 1838) to Axel Rappe was not justified, as the person in question had a son with the exact same name (that info is included in the article). Please hold your horses for at least a few minutes before performing such a move to give me a chance to actually create the disambiguation page and describe why the (born xxxx) addition was needed. Best wishes – Elisson Talk 19:47, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] New Page Patrol

Howdy! I'm patrolling new pages with you today, and wanted to remind you to leave a message on the creator's talk page when you nominate an article for speedy deletion. [edit] Unspecified source for Image:Manuel Rodriguez.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Manuel Rodriguez.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. [edit] Attack pages

Howdy! I saw that you tagged an attack page for speedy deletion. The tag you want to use is {{db-attack}}, not {{db-disparage}}. The latter tag is used for templates that are "divisive and inflammatory." Not a big deal, since I zapped it right away, but I thought you'd want to know. Cheers! -- Merope 13:58, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

And you're doing fine! You might want to look at WP:CSD#Deletion_templates; there are a list of the tags used for each criterion. -- Merope 14:06, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Caroline Grigsby

Is Caroline Grigsby really a personal attack? It's a fictional character. Unless her negative comments were directed to the author herself, I don't see how it can be considered an attack page. -WarthogDemon 20:30, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Is this information appropriate?

Hey, I'm trying to get information about the company I work for on Wiki. It's been deleted twice and I have read the guidelines of Wiki postings (and I do agree that my first post was "blatant advertising" However, I would like to see our company listed in the Wiki, so can you please take a look through the following text and let me know if it is appropriate for posting?

Thanks

Here's the info I would like to post:

MTS Driver Recruiters LLC was founded in January of 2000 by Ken Walker (CEO) and Greg Walker (CFO) to meet the growing needs of transportation companies for qualified, commercially licensed truck drivers. Today, the staff consists of 30 people including Kevin Hayes General Manager, John Eagy Recruiting and Sourcing Manager, John Hissong Director of Sales and Marketing, Tammy Blain Operations Manager.

MTS has placed many thousands of drivers throughout the U.S. Clients range from small private fleets to large commercial trucking companies throughout North America.

[edit] Categories

Hi, I was wondering if you could give me some help with categories, since you've been such a big help in the past. I was trying to make a subcategory for the Category:National Consortium for Specialized Secondary Schools of Mathematics, Science and Technology schools called 'The Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science,' pages to include MSMS and Southern Voices. It didn't work out quite like I'd planned. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks! ElentariAchaea 15:39, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Untagged image

An image you uploaded, Image:ConcepcionCoatofArms.png, was tagged with the {{coatofarms}} copyright tag. This tag was deleted because it does not actually specify the copyright status of the image. The image may need a more accurate copyright tag, or it may need to be deleted. If the image portrays a seal or emblem, it should be tagged as {{seal}}. If you have any questions, ask them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. -- 11:37, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for doing that, I really appreciate it. Getting it to FA was a group effort, I know I was the main one pushing it, but I would never have been able to do it alone. I'll read over the article later tonight. Thanks again. - Shudda talk 02:48, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

In reply to your note, I'm usually around Villarrica. Been around here since '97. Actually I guess I should have put NZ on my list. We made friends with a student Dr. who came to Chile from there to do part of her internship here in the mid '80s. Afterwards she went to practice in northern Australia and it's been a long while since we've heard from her. Which University do you teach at? Do you also hold workshops to understand the NZ accent?  ;-) I think the most fun part of knowing Raewyn (the Dr.) was trying to figure out what she was saying.
What do you think of the Chilean Universities' practice of charging graduates to get a certificate of their degree? I have a daughter graduating and was appaled when I was informed of this. I'd never heard of anything like this in Canada. Do they do anything like that in NZ? --JAXHERE | Talk 12:56, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
I rather suspected that you'd be working for San Sebastian. That's the same Uni. which my daughter is graduating from but in Puerto Montt. Well, it's nice to make your acquaintance. We'll probably bump into eachother from time to time ... I am doing a lot of work on chilean articles, too. If you're ever visiting Villarrica, let me know and I'll treat you to a coffee, in the meantime it will have to be a virtual cup JAXHERE | Talk 17:24, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Original All Blacks

Hey, yeah I'm going to work on it a little bit. The great thing about this article is that there are many books on the subject, a lot of them publisher last year. I am also looking at the 1981 Springbok Tour and the 1995 Rugby World Cup, however both of those have less resources out there. I'm trying to get a collaboration at WikiProject New Zealand together for the 81 Tour, need more votes though (go here and vote!). My aim at the moment is GA status for all of them, FA is still a wee way off. Any help on any of these would be greatly appreciated! - Shudda talk 19:09, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
