Gripple

Gripples are wire joining and tensioning devices produced by Gripple Ltd., a manufacturing firm based primarily in the city of Sheffield, England. Although each range of devices produced by the company has a different name, they are known collectively as 'Gripples'.

Gripples have many applications. The three main groups are industrial, agricultural and gardening.

In agriculture, Gripples are often used in farming and viticulture.

Gripples can be found worldwide, and have been used in many famous structures, including 30 St Mary Axe (also known as The London Gherkin), the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff and the Dingo Fence in Australia.

The company was formed in 1988 by Hugh Facey.

In 1994, the company moved premises to its current location of the Old West Gun Works, in the Lower Don Valley region of Sheffield, where it was officially re-opened as Gripple's manufacturing base by HRH the Prince of Wales on 12th December that year.

Gripple has a sister company, Loadhog Ltd, which was also founded by Hugh Facey.
